Why competitor analysis is needed
Launching a product or promotion without competitor analysis is like going into battle blindfolded. Competitors have already spent years and millions finding working solutions: their semantics show real demand, their structure shows what clients look for, their ads show which offers get clicked, their mistakes show what not to do. Competitor analysis saves months of experiments: instead of "try and see" you start with proven niche practices and immediately differentiate from rivals weak spots. The analysis is needed when: launching a new product or website, sales are falling, entering a new market, planning a promotion budget, changing positioning. The report pays for itself with the first right decision — be it site structure, an offer or a Direct bid.
Identifying competitors and the market
First we find your real competitors — they are not always obvious: Yandex results for your queries may include aggregators, marketplaces or companies from an adjacent niche eating your demand. We define three levels: direct (same product, same audience), indirect (a different solution to the same need) and visibility leaders (who occupy top and ad positions). We build the market picture: demand volume and dynamics via Wordstat, seasonality, regional distribution, price segments. We interview your sales departments: whom managers actually meet in deals. The result — a shortlist of 5–8 competitors for deep study, with reasons why them.
SEO intelligence: rankings, semantics, links
We see how competitors collect organic traffic: their visibility in Yandex and Google across niche semantics, which pages rank and for which queries, their site structure (sections, filter landing pages, blogs), the volume and quality of content, update frequency. We collect their semantic cores via services (Keys.so, Topvisor, Bukvarix) and compare with yours: which clusters you miss, where competition is pointless, where there are "windows". We review link profiles: donors, strategies, growth rates. We analyze snippets and markup: why they are more clickable. The result — an organic map: which pages and clusters will bring you traffic fastest and how to build the structure to catch the leaders.
Advertising: offers, combos, budgets
We take apart paid visibility: who runs in Yandex.Direct and for which queries, which offers and headlines they use, how many positions they hold. Via ad analysis services (SpyWords, Serpstat, SEMrush) we estimate approximate budgets, impression dynamics, semantic overlaps. We review creatives and landing pages: where ads lead, how the pages are built, which bonuses and lead magnets they offer. Separately — targeting and social: activity in VK and Telegram, formats, content engagement. We draw conclusions: which "query → offer → landing" combos work for leaders, where competition is overheated (pointless to enter), which niche queries are cheap and unoccupied. This is a ready canvas for your Direct and targeting.
Content, USPs and customer experience
We compare the "showcases": how competitors present the product — the structure and copy of home pages, service/product cards, cases and reviews, prices (or their hiding), lead forms and barriers. We assess USPs: what they justify the choice with, which guarantees they give, how they build trust (portfolio, certificates, numbers, team faces). We walk the customer path on their sites as a buyer: speed, mobile version, clarity of the next step, form liveliness. We record the strong — worth adopting (honestly, without copying texts), and the weak — worth attacking: slow sites, hidden prices, outdated design, empty cases. From this your positioning is born: not "like everyone but cheaper", but a conscious difference rivals will have to chase.
The final report: SWOT and an action plan
We assemble everything into a management document. SWOT for each key competitor and for you: strengths and weaknesses, niche opportunities, threats. A comparison table: rankings, traffic, ads, content, conversion elements — on a 10-point scale the gaps are visible. An opportunity map: query clusters "out of play" for competitors, cheap ad combos, unoccupied content topics, weaknesses that can be exploited. An action plan with priorities: what to implement on the site (structure, pages, offers), how to build SEO and ads, which positioning to choose. Every recommendation comes with reasoning and the expected effect. We present online in an hour: you leave with a ready strategy, not "a folder of screenshots".
